Sideswipe Car Accidents
Sideswipe car accidents occur frequently on Atlanta’s roads and highways. They occur when vehicles driving side-by-side collide after one of the vehicles attempts to make a lane change. Sometimes sideswipe car accidents happen when a negligent driver fails to check the lane prior to making the change or merge onto a roadway. Sideswipe car accidents can also happen when a driver is distracted, falls asleep or is intoxicated. Although most cars are now equipped with side airbags and are reinforced to help keep car occupants safe in a sideswipe accident, sideswipe car accidents can, and do, cause serious and fatal injuries.
Atlanta sideswipe car accident lawyer Charles Scholle, has successfully represented injured sideswipe car accident victims for nearly two decades. His dedication and commitment to pursuit of their legal and financial rights has not waivered. Securing the rights of his clients, and helping them to heal physically and emotionally from trauma, makes this effort worthwhile. Charles Scholle’s clients and former clients are grateful for the legal work he has done for them and the support he provides. They know they are in great hands when they retain Charles Scholle to represent them.
Georgia law requires that motor vehicle drivers signal before turning, changing lanes, slowing or stopping. Under Official Code of Georgia section 40-6-123 (a) drivers must not “change lanes or move right or left upon a roadway unless and until such movement can be made with reasonable safety. No person shall so turn any vehicle without giving an appropriate and timely signal…” An appropriate signal must “be given continuously for a time sufficient to alert the driver of a vehicle proceeding from the rear in the same direction,” for example, and must indicate their intention to turn or change lanes.
When drivers fail to abide by Georgia law or are negligent or reckless in their driving, a sideswipe car accident can occur. Scholle Law, has successfully represented clients who have been seriously injured in a sideswipe car accident involving other cars, trucks, vans, SUV’s and motor vehicles of all kinds. He has also represented the families of those who have tragically lost their lives in an accident. Our consultation is free of charge and we do not get paid until we get financial recovery for our clients.
